Cranberry Apple Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 12oz Fresh cranberries
  • 1 Apple large peeled and diced (honey crisp or similar)
  • 1 tsp Orange zest
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Orange juice (fresh squeezed)
  • 1 Cinnamon stick or 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions
 

  • Peel and dice apple. Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil and then reduce to medium low heat and simmer for about 20 minutes. Cranberries should be broken, and you should have a nice thick consistency. You can use a masher to break open any remaining cranberries.
  • Allow to cool completely and store in a glass jar. Can be refrigerated for 1 week or you can freeze and pull out the day before serving.
