Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Fine mesh strainer
  • 1 Large bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 small Carrots (5-6 inches long, unpeeled and ends chopped)
  • 2 Large Orange (cara cara or similar, peeled)
  • 2 large Fresh lemons juiced
  • 1 med Kiwi (peeled)
  • 1/2 cup Raspberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 small Garlic clove peeled
  • 1 tsp Raw honey Start with 1 tsp, adjust to desired sweetness.
  • 1 Inch Piece fresh turmeric (recommended) or 1/2 tbsp powdered
  • 1 Inch piece of fresh ginger
  • 1 cup Coconut water (recommended) or filtered water
  • 1 pinch Black pepper (approximately 1/8 tsp or less)

Instructions

  • Prepare the ingredients- Wash all produce, Peel orange, garlic and kiwi, chop carrots (removing ends) and juice lemons. Measure out raspberries, pepper, honey etc.
  • Combine- Combine all ingredients into a blender except for black pepper.
  • Blend- Blend on high until smooth and well-combined. If you have a smaller personal blender, you may need to blend in 2 batches.
  • Strain and add pepper- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a large bowl to remove any pulp, then stir in the black pepper into the strained liquid.
  • Pour- Pour the mixture into glass jars, dividing it into 3-4 oz servings. This will yield approximately 2 cups, or 16 fluid ounces, of liquid. I like to store mine in 6 oz yogurt jars, filling them approximately 4 ounces full.
  • Store- Store in refrigerator and take first thing in the morning, before or after a workout or during cold/flu season. These will last in the fridge for up to 2-3 days or freeze in ice cube trays for longer storage.
