Savory Cottage Cheese Toast (Baked, High-Protein & So Easy)
Jennifer Hall
This baked cottage cheese toast is a quick, high-protein recipe made with eggs, cottage cheese, and melty cheese for a creamy, savory topping that bakes up fluffy and golden over sourdough bread. It’s an easy cottage cheese toast that works for breakfast, brunch, or even a simple dinner side. Think of it as a fun twist on quiche toast—cozy, satisfying, and packed with protein to keep you full.

Instructions
Preheat: Preheat oven to 350 degrees ℉. (See below for air fryer method)
Combine filling ingredients: To a bowl add cottage cheese, egg, cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Prepare bread: Slice two large slices of sourdough bread. Brush the tops and bottoms with a light coating of oil or melted butter.
Spread the filling: Spread mixture evenly over the two slices of sourdough and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the centers are set, similar to a quiche. If you'd like a deeper golden color, broil for about 1 minute, watching closely to prevent burning.
See notes below for air fryer instructions.
Add toppings and serve hot: Add any toppings you like, I keep it simple and like to add red pepper flakes and basil.
Notes
Air Fryer: Air fry at 350°F for 5–8 minutes, or until the center is set and no longer jiggly and the top is golden. I do not preheat my air fryer beforehand, and I do not brush the top with oil or butter when using the air fryer method.
